Stourbridge chess club held the third Brian Dudley memorial blitz
chess tournaments in memory of the club’s former president and county
champion Dr Brian Dudley on August 24th 2022.
Players were invited from neighbouring clubs to participate in either
a junior or an adult tournament. Both tournaments had a fast time
control of 10 minutes per person per game.
The main tournament had fourteen players and was a 6 round Swiss
tournament.
Joe Friar (Kidderminster) was the clear winner.
Rapidly improving junior Joe Conway-Lees (Stourbridge) came second.
Stourbridge's Greg Parkes won the under 1650 prize and Ben Doran the under 1450 prize.
The junior tournament was a three round round robin and was won by Josh Greaves.
